Welcome to People Weavers Raranga Tangata, where dreams take shape through the delicate and intentional art of weaving—one strand at a time. Our journey began with a clear vision: to empower individuals to achieve their moemoea (dreams) by guiding them from where they are to where they need to be, in the right moment and space. We walk alongside our ākonga (students) and kiritaki (clients), helping them discover their authentic selves and clearing pathways to their future.
At the heart of our work is a profound belief in the power of 'understanding' and 'self-knowledge.' We have seen, time and again, that when individuals and communities truly know themselves, they unlock the resilience and strength needed to navigate life’s unique challenges. This philosophy has shaped every programme and project we’ve undertaken, from our workshops to our broader community engagements. In our spaces, we encourage our kiritaki to find their authentic voice. By creating a familiar and supportive environment, we facilitate a journey of self-discovery and growth. Our approach is rooted in the ancient and cherished art of storytelling, a practice that has empowered indigenous communities for generations. Through storytelling, our kiritaki share their real, lived experiences, weaving their narratives into the fabric of our collective understanding.
Authenticity is more than a word to us—it’s a core value. We honour the unique stories our kiritaki share, recognising them as precious strands that contribute to the broader tapestry of our work. These narratives reveal the resilience and reflections necessary to keep forging new pathways forward. As we continue to grow, we aim to expand this vision into new spaces through collaborations and partnerships—be it with more government programmes, industry partners, or Māori and community enterprises. People Weavers Raranga Tangata Ltd is more than a company; we are a vibrant, innovative, Māori-led enterprise born out of the growing needs of our industry and the desire to connect Māori and other underserved communities with opportunities that help them thrive—He Puawaitia. We create spaces that support community, industry, and kiritaki needs, all while upholding values that emphasise meaningful, heart-centred approaches.
Our mission is to ignite future pathways in the hearts and minds of our kiritaki. We envision this like the swift, purposeful movement of the piwaiwaka (fantail) as it dances through the bush (ngahere), its fluttering tail signalling readiness and anticipation. We see boundless possibilities for our kiritaki, and we ask, “What are the infinite possibilities available?”
We see ourselves as the “Weavers of Infinite Possibilities."
While People Weavers Raranga Tangata may view itself as a small grassroots organisation, our impact extends far beyond. We work closely with Tai Tokerau Trades Training—a company we proudly own—which shares our deep connection to grassroots efforts and strong industry ties. Together, we collaborate on projects, share resources, and co-manage initiatives that bring our vision to life.
We are also closely aligned with Elevate Training—Aotearoa, a key part of our whānau of companies. Elevate Training specialises in delivering short, fee-paying workshops to industry and the community, further broadening our reach, and enhancing our ability to serve our diverse whānau whānui (communities). The suite of workshops is constantly being added to as we see the need for a workshop.
In everything we do, we remain committed to weaving together the strands of possibility, understanding, and authentic connection. At People Weavers Raranga Tangata, we are dedicated to helping our communities flourish—one story, one dream, one woven thread at a time. We are an Amotai registered Māori business and are dedicated to serving all sectors of our communities.
